Dart Energy coal bed methane proposed development at Letham: Review of additional information supplied in support of the hydrogeological assessment

Prior to the Dart Energy Public Inquiry an extremely thorough report was produced by David K. Smythe, Emeritus Professor of Geophysics, University of Glasgow which concluded that Dart Energy's planned development "poses a threat to groundwater resources over the entire area of the [Proposed Development Area], and there is the additional risk that fugitive methane may even reach the surface", and in his view, "the development should not be permitted".

Professor Smythe has since produced an updated report in the form of a 'precognition statement', which is linked below and replaces his original report; and he served as a CCoF expert witness at the public inquiry in March 2014.
